Management Team

Ian is a senior executive in Kline’s energy practice and is based in Boston, MA. Prior to joining Kline in 2007, his 30-plus years of international oil, gas, and petrochemical industry experience were largely spent with Arthur D. Little Inc., where he was a vice president in the Global Energy Practice and director of its Global Natural Gas Practice, as well as a rotating member of its board of directors. He started his career with British Petroleum Company, based in London and New York.

Ian has assisted clients around the world to evaluate strategic opportunities for growth, from gas and NGLs to heavy oils and tar sands. His clients include major and independent oil companies, NOC’s, governments, utilities, and lenders.

Ian is an honors graduate in chemistry from the University of Wales. In his spare time, he enjoys golfing and boating, and providing strategic guidance to The Acton School of Ballet, which is led by his daughter Lindsay Moncrieff, the owner and artistic director of this prestigious studio.
