Software Developer, Prague

Kline, an international management consulting and market research firm, is looking for a Software Developer for Kline's Database Products development team. This developer should have at least three (3) years of experience working with the Microsoft technology stack: an ASP.NET web front end, .NET (C#) middle tier, and a Microsoft SQL Server database back end. Any experience with Microsoft Azure is a plus.

We are looking for a development professional with solid development and object-oriented programming/design skills, with a focus on proper craftsmanship and the ability to deliver efficient architecture and high-quality code. This position will require working as part of an international, agile software development (Scrum) team. Experience creating rich, dynamic, and responsive web interfaces is also welcome.

Candidates must have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

   

Prerequisites

  • Expertise with Visual Studio and C# (6.0) language.
  • High-level of familiarity with .NET Framework, LINQ, and Entity Framework.
  • Good experience working with Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 (or higher) and Transact-SQL (T-SQL) including relational database structures; any experience with SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), Multidimensional Expressions (MDX), and/or CLR integration is a plus.
  • Good experience working with AngularJS, preferably with version 2 experience.
  • Experience with HTML5 as well as JavaScript (including jQuery), CSS3, and Bootstrap.
  • Familiarity with Visual Studio Team Services, DevExpress, NUnit, and/or Sandcastle is welcome.
  • Flexibility to work with international team members occasionally during extended business hours.
  • Earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.), or its equivalent, in Computer Science, an Engineering discipline, or Mathematics.
 

Responsibilities

 
  • Create new and/or modify/enhance existing databases, including tables, keys, indexes, stored procedures, and/or user-defined functions; test all database enhancements before deployment.
  • Create new features as well as maintain existing code base (both C# and T-SQL), including resolving issues and/or fixing bugs; test all programmatic enhancements before deployment.
  • Maintain and update backlog items.
  • Maintain and update distinct deployment environments.
  • Maintain and update (inline) source code documentation.
  • Maintain and update the source code repository as well as product versioning.
  • Participate in pair programming.
  • Participate in peer code reviews.
  • Perform regular internal application testing with some final production application testing, if necessary.
  • Routinely communicate directly with international members of the team including senior team members and business stakeholders, if applicable.
  • Self-guided training/skill enhancement with occasional training, as applicable and available.
