Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our business development team. The main objective of this role is to focus in Tier 2/3 accounts to identify, develop and acquire new accounts for the Chemicals and Agriculture Practice in our Market Research division in the Americas with the objective of expanding our client base by generating new leads and researching target companies, assisting the Director of Chemical and Agriculture Market Research Sales.  This role will also help maintain and grow existing accounts and work with Salesforce, our CRM database.

The specific job responsibilities include:

  • Attend industry trade shows and conferences to represent Kline and meet new prospects
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of the KMR portfolio of reports.
  • Develop knowledge of the Chemicals and Agriculture Practices through industry events, news, publications, etc.
  • Prospecting and Targeting:  develop sales leads through on-line research, identifying key players, cold calling, emails, etc.
  • Conduct telephone sales calls to Tier 2/3 clients across Kline’s chemicals and agriculture practices
  • Source new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up
  • Understand customer needs and requirements, sell consultatively and build long-term relationships
  • Service and grow select existing accounts
  • Close sales and achieve quarterly quotas/targets
  • Team with channel partners to build pipeline and close deals
  • Perform effective online demonstrations to prospects
  • Schedule, plan and assist in leading client meetings, both in-person and on-line
  • Assist in conducting sales presentations for prospective and current clients

Job Requirements:

Qualified candidates will have up to 1 to 2 years successful experience in new business development and consultative selling in the B2B market, preferably with a working knowledge of market research, marketing, and/or consulting.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills, both in-person and over the phone
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively & independently
  • Self-motivated and organized
  • Track record in meeting or exceeding sales goals/quotas
  • Consultative selling experience and long sales cycles
  • Ability to work the full sales process and close deals mostly independently
  • Attendance at industry trade shows, events and seminars helpful
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required; WebEx and Salesforce desired
  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in business, marketing or communications
  • Parsippany NJ location
  • Travel up to 25%.
