Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our business development team. The main objective of this role is to develop and acquire new accounts and maintain existing accounts for the Chemicals and Agrochemicals practice in the Americas.  The main activities in this role are generating new leads, researching target companies, calling prospects to set up appointments, supporting existing clients, and working with an account manager to sell market studies.  The majority of client discussions will be with marketing directors or intelligence directors at US chemical companies.  This is a sales prospecting role that provides the training to move to an Account Executive position.   This role will also help maintain and grow existing accounts and work with Salesforce, our CRM database.

Responsibilities include:

  • Generate leads for the sales team by researching and cold calling prospective customers
  • Makes cold calls and follows up on email requests
  • Support current clients by conducting training sessions, answering questions about our services, developing materials for the client
  •  Leverage opportunities by researching other companies who may have similar needs
  • Identifies decision makers and works in conjunction with an Account Manager to win business
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of the KMR portfolio of reports
  • Develop knowledge of the Chemicals and Agriculture Practices through industry events, news, publications, etc.
  • Source new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up
  • Attend industry trade shows and conferences to represent Kline and meet new prospects
  • Schedule, plan and assist in leading client meetings, both in-person and on-line

Job Requirements:

Qualified candidates will have at least one year of B2B sales or lead generation experience, in addition to:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills, both in-person and over the phone
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively & independently
  • Self-motivated and organized
  • Attendance at industry trade shows, events and seminars helpful
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required; WebEx and Salesforce desired
  • Parsippany NJ location
  • Travel up to 25%.
