Sales Development Representative (SDR) {Home-based in the US}


Kline & Company is looking for a Sales Development Representative (SDR) to join our dynamic, international sales team. The position has the option of home-based in the US. The SDR’s primary role with be to support our business development efforts in the Americas, Europe and UK across the Consumer and Energy industries in the following segments:

  • Consumer Products – Beauty, Personal Care, Healthcare
  • Energy/Petroleum – Lubricants, Base Oils, Renewables

Sales Development Representatives (SDRs) are a critical part of our business development team. The primary goal is to identify new prospects, qualify leads and assist in setting up meetings for our Business Development Managers (BDMs), once the leads are qualified. The SDR also acts as a liaison between marketing and the business development team to assist with marketing efforts. The SDR is a people-person, genuinely curious and interested in helping our clients find solutions to their business problems. They are personable, friendly, and professional, with a passion for new lead generation and management.


  • Outbound Lead Generation and Qualification - Research potential clients, connect with and educate prospects, and qualify leads to identify if they are truly a good prospect for our products before connecting them with your BDM(s).
  • Inbound Lead Qualification - Respond to initial inquiries, qualify lead, educate prospects about the product or service and schedule meetings with your BDM(s).
  • Lead Management – Manage all lead activity and maintain accurate records in Salesforce.
  • Marketing Support - Follow up on all marketing efforts (I.e., weekly newsletters, targeting marketing campaigns, webinars, tradeshows/events, etc.) to generate interest in our reports.
  • Track, Meet, Exceed Assigned Metrics – (# of emails and phone calls, # of scheduled meetings and # opportunities created).


  • Relevant four-year degree in marketing, market research, sales, communications, business development or business administration are preferred.
  • Proven 1-2 years of successful experience in sales, market research, consulting, marketing or other related field.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Spanish or other European languages also a plus.
  • Positive attitude, intellectual curiosity, tenacity, drive and a friendly personality.
  • Self-motivated, organized and able to work independently in a virtual office or hybrid work environment.
  • Proficient in MS Office, Linked In/Sales Navigator, or similar CRM/Marketing tool.
  • Active listener with superb communication skills.
  • Empathetic with the ability to develop rapport, influence others and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to explain complex issues clearly and concisely, and have open conversations with prospective clients.
