Another Year at Cosmoprof North America, Another Wave of Beauty Innovation

Cosmoprof North America 2025 once again brought the beauty industry together in Las Vegas for a vibrant showcase of innovation, emerging brand stories, and evolving category dynamics. Our Beauty and Wellbeing team members Agnieszka Saintemarie, Kristy Altenburg, and Amy King were on the ground, engaging with brands, discovering novel product launches, and attending educational sessions packed with insights. Among the many highlights were the Discover Beauty and Beauty Vanities sections, both brimming with entrepreneurial spirit and next-gen beauty concepts.

Professional Nail Care: Tech-Driven, Hema-Free, and Channel Fluidity

The nail care sector had a significant presence this year, with brands pushing innovation through ingredients, technology, and distribution, something that Kline + Company continues to monitor through its ongoing coverage of the professional nail care market.

  • Hema-free formulations were a clear trend, with brands such as Kiara Sky launching new lines catering to both salons and consumers online.

  • Nail Alliance drew attention with a large booth showcasing Gelish and Morgan Taylor, while Après noted growing demand for its Gel-X system and expanded its color range, targeting a broad audience primarily in the United States, with expansion into the United Kingdom and Australia.

  • Ella+Mila, a retail-first brand with growing salon presence, recently entered the United Arab Emirates, an increasingly attractive market for beauty brands looking to expand internationally.

  • Nimble’s automated manicure device, powered by artificial intelligence (AI), attracted major buzz and foot traffic.

  • Orly celebrated its 50th anniversary with the Anniversary Pinks collection, as well as collections from each decade of the brand’s existence.

Professional Skin Care + Beauty Devices: Science-Backed, Sun-Protected, and LED-Powered

Longevity, skin health, and tech-forward solutions dominated the skin care and beauty devices area, echoing key themes that we spotlighted in our Top Trends to Watch in Beauty and Wellbeing for 2025 and Beyond report:

  • EXOceuticals showcased its exosome-infused range focused on enhancing cellular communication for healthy, youthful skin.

  • Spooge turned heads with its dermatologist-developed, mineral-based sunscreens, formulated for full-body, all-season wear and branded with attention-grabbing names such as The OG (SPF 50), Dew Me (SPF 30), and Ghosted (SPF 30).

  • Timeless Skin Care stood out with a streamlined portfolio of serums, hyaluronic acid, hydrating peptide sprays, as well as kits and devices.

  • Light therapy and body tech had a moment: Aalok’s Fitsera device and the Body Jet, combining infrared and steam technology, drew significant interest. Meanwhile, JMoon introduced its upcoming FlexGlow Light Therapy Device and NouvelleSkin Facial Toning Device.

Professional Hair Care: Small Footprint, Big Moments

While hair care brands were fewer in number this year, some notable standouts emerged:

  • Luseta Beauty, a clean, affordable brand sold mostly at retail, made a strong impression with its all-natural, salon-quality positioning products.

  • Surprising new entrant Buddycare, a UK-based brand, became the first pet care line to exhibit at Cosmoprof North America, pointing to cross-category curiosity and new growth frontiers.

The team’s observations from the Cosmoprof North America event indicate a continuing and growing convergence between professional and consumer beauty sectors. This is evidenced by professional-grade products entering retail channels, the availability of hi-tech beauty devices directly to consumers, and brands reevaluating their distribution playbook. With Generation Alpha growing up in an environment that prioritizes digital engagement and wellness, this trend is expected to intensify, fundamentally transforming the ways in which beauty products are discovered, marketed, and experienced.

Recent headline deals, such as L’Oréal’s acquisitions of Color Wow and Medik8, further highlight just how pivotal the professional sector has become in shaping the beauty industry’s future.
