The 2017 ISSA/Interclean North America show brought together over 16,000 cleaning and hygiene professionals in Las Vegas, NV. The event was filled with exciting workshops and top-line innovation in the technology, cleaning chemicals, and business practices.
The show floor and innovation showcase sections were filled with over 700 exhibitors, including suppliers and distributors, who shared experiences and demonstrated state-of-the-art products.
Technology continues to be an important driver of growth in the cleaning industry. ISSA 2017 Innovation Awards nominees included Diversey with its TASKI Intellibot SWINGOBOT 2000, a hands-free cleaning robot, and MoonBeam a powerful disinfection system using UV light to kill bacteria on high-touch areas. Clorox Professional was nominated with Clorox Total 360 system, an electrostatic sprayer that can cover hard-to-reach areas. Another device nominated for the award was enMotion Flex Paper Towel System by Georgia Pacific PRO, a jam-free dispensing system that allows for complete utilization of paper. All of these products were developed to meet the need for time and cost efficiency, which are the key purchasing factors for I&I end users, according to Kline’s Janitorial and Housekeeping Cleaning Products market study.
Cleaning chemicals suppliers also opt for innovation in their formulations. Amano Pioneer Eclipse presented a new green technology, EnviroStar Gemini Floor Finish, which provides a new generation of water-resistant polymers that ensure long-lasting results. OMI Industries developed a natural and non-toxic solution, IAQ, which aims to eliminate tobacco and cannabis smoke, as well as other odors.
Educational presentations were a good source of inspiration and a place to exchange industry insights. Educational sessions included professional cleaning certifications in restroom care, carpet care, and disinfection, customer service, and more. Other informative presentations were on the state of the economy, green cleaning in schools, and contractor trends.
The Resource Center was full of informative presentations and workshops.
