Last week, Swarup Chakrabarty, Senior Analyst in Kline’s Beauty and Wellbeing vertical, attended the Professional Beauty India show in Kolkata, which attracted over 100,000 buyers and sellers, showcasing India’s burgeoning strength in the beauty and wellbeing industry. From the introduction of new hair care brands such as 3TenX to an increasing popularity of deep conditioning hair treatments, as reflected by new product offerings by local brands such as Beauty Garage and Cabelo Chave Professional, the show underscored the evolving landscape of the industry.
Kline’s latest research has signaled a growing demand for treatments such as hair Botox, known for deep conditioning, and nanoplastia, renowned for its hydration and restoration properties. This trend was also echoed at the show, with one key highlight among the deep conditioning treatments being the launch of Cabelo Chave Professional’s Hair Botox Treatment, a homegrown Indian brand curated by Lazy Soul Cosmetics LLP. This new product claims to achieve 85%–90% straightening results within a day, with the added benefit of frizz-free hair for up to 65 washes. Enriched with a blend of premium oils including coconut oil, Jojoba oil, Marula oil, and Vitamin E, this treatment stands out for its formaldehyde-free formulation. Moreover, the brand showcased its NeoPlex Series, a line comprising a shampoo, a protein sealant, and a mask.
Other standout local hair treatments included:
- Beauty Garage’s Botoliss, launched in collaboration with Jean Claude Biguine Paris Salon and Spa
- Krone Professional, from Raaga Professional, showcasing its Proboto-X Advanced Keratin Treatment
- Kera Fine, presenting its latest Smoothing Cream Treatment and powdered Botox treatment, specifically designed for blond hair
On the international front, b3 Brazilian Bond Builder, a U.S.-based new entrant in the India market, showcased its latest products, Bond Builder, Split End Bonder Service, and b3 Demi Permanent Conditioner, for dry and chemically treated hair. Meanwhile, Nashi, an increasingly popular hair care brand in the India market (headquartered in Italy), captured attendees’ attention with its Argan oil-based products, particularly emphasizing its Filler Therapy Professional Treatment product line.

On the other hand, several new launches commanded attention at the show, including the following:
- 3TenX: Launched at this year’s Professional Beauty India show in Bengaluru in February by sisters Ankith and Megha Arora, the brand aims to provide Indian consumers with highly effective yet affordable hair care products. In fact, 3TenX’s name symbolizes “3 times the efficacy and 10 benefits.” Its product portfolio comprises two main ranges: The HydraRevíve Haircare range, featuring a shampoo, a conditioner, and a mask; and the UltimateRèvitalize range, offering a shampoo, a conditioner, a mask, and a booster. Notably, the founders bring substantial expertise to the beauty industry, having introduced international giants such as Olaplex and Kevin Murphy to the India market.
- Barcode International: A salon-exclusive brand, manufacturing its products in Turkey, launched its Sulphate & Salt-Free line at the show. This new line includes a shampoo, a cream, and a leave-in conditioner suitable for all hair types. Additionally, the brand introduced a dedicated portfolio called Dry & Damage (for dry and frizzy hair), comprising a shampoo, a cream, a leave-in conditioner, a serum, an oil, and a mask.
- Indica Professional: A brand under Calvin Care, unveiled Brillumin, its professional range of no-ammonia colors, which generated considerable buzz among stylists for its color vibrancy. The brand hosted live demonstrations of its colors, engaging media influencers who were present at the show.
