Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated individual for a business development role. The main objective of this role is to focus in Tier 2/3 accounts to identify, develop and acquire new accounts for the Chemicals and Agriculture Practice in our Market Research division in the Americas with the objective of expanding our client base. This role will also maintain some existing accounts.

The specific job responsibilities include:

  • Prospecting, targeting, and closing new accounts (60%) with continued development and servicing of the account after the account is won.
  • Servicing and growing select existing accounts (40%)
  • Achieving and exceeding individual and industry sales targets
  • Working in close coordination with the global sales and marketing team
  • Attending industry trade shows and conferences to represent Kline and meet new prospects
  • Scheduling, planning and leading client meetings, both in-person and on-line
  • Conducting sales presentations for prospective and current clients
  • Building long-term client relationships
  • Selling utilizing a consultative approach

Job Requirements:

Qualified candidates will have 1 to 2 years successful experience in new business development and consultative selling in the B2B market and should possess a working knowledge of market research, marketing, and/or consultation services. Experience with syndicated studies and publications in Agriculture and the Chemicals industry would be beneficial.

The candidate should have a demonstrated track record in the following areas:

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both in-person and over the phone
  • Meeting or exceeding sales goals
  • Self-motivated and organized
  • Consultative selling and long sales cycles
  • Ability to manage the full sales process and close deals independently
  • Attending industry trade shows, events and seminars
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, WebEx and Salesforce
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in business, marketing or communications
  • Certified sales or marketing training a plus
  • Parsippany NJ location or a centrally-located home office in the U.S with convenient access to a major airport.
  • Travel is required (up to 25%).
