A leading global marketer of professional hair care products needed to understand the penetration and salon stylist perceptions of eco-vegan-organic products in Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Kline conducted a survey with stylists in each market and combined the outcomes with product information from our Global Salon Hair Care Intelligence Center. The information helped understand market activation plans as well as innovation initiatives.
Business Development: Natural Personal Care
The new ventures team at a major CPG was seeking to validate and further build its pipeline of potential “seedling” opportunities in natural beauty in China and South Korea. The expertise of Kline team was sought out due to our extensive knowledge of global natural personal care and the experience of our Asia team. Several new BD opportunities that were not on the client’s radar were brought to their attention and were pursued for a partnership by the client.
Growth Strategies in Oral Care: Natural & Herbal Ingredients
The oral care innovation team at this major CPG needed a global foundation of information and insights – scientific, marketing, and more – to inform its innovation initiatives for oral care. In addition to building an always on library of ingredient information, the goal was to identify and prioritize a short list of ingredients that could be targeted and pursued ultimately for commercial development. The work process involved gathering and evaluating scientific research with the client’s R&D team, as well as conducting qualitative consumer research globally with the marketing and market research teams to evaluate product concepts. This program resulted in several new products and serves as a global knowledge center for natural and herbal ingredients.
