Project Manager, Process Industries (Chemicals and Manufacturing Competitiveness) {India}


Job Description:

Kline & Company is seeking a highly motivated individual for consideration as project manager in the Process Industries (Chemicals and Manufacturing Competitiveness) Practice within our management consulting division. Our Manufacturing Competitiveness Practice primarily focuses on conducting proprietary competitive intelligence assessments of manufacturing operations and process technologies on a global basis across chemical and related process industries and CPG/consumer healthcare industries with focus on detailed manufacturing cost analysis, P&L assessment, comparative technology assessment, and manufacturing process improvement. Our Chemicals Practice focuses on market assessment, market entry, analysis of distribution channels, due diligence and acquisition screening, identification of unmet needs, customer perception, retention and satisfaction. This position will report to the Vice President, Manufacturing Competitiveness, Kline Management Consulting.

Job Requirements:

  • Guide research process and deliverables of proprietary projects
  • Oversee efforts of the individuals conducting research and writing reports
  • Drive staff performance to successful completion of studies
  • Assure content and quality of the studies
  • Write/review reports for proprietary studies
  • Work with the project team to conduct analysis, develop appraisal and recommendations, and prepare presentations and all supporting documentation
  • Present findings of projects to client
  • From time to time, conduct select primary interviews to obtain critical insights and information
  • Assist with growth and development of practices
  • Work with the Sr. VP and VP of the Manufacturing Competitiveness and Chemicals practices, develop/refine proposals in response to client requests including scope, scheduling, budget, and client deliverables
  • Maintain and develop client relationships
  • Assist with business development meetings and presentations
  • Identify enhancements to project deliverables and work processes
  • Develop the practice’s junior staff

Essential Job Requirements:

  • At least five years of experience in consulting, manufacturing, or process engineering, preferably in the chemical industry
  • Experience developing, managing and presenting project results to senior management, either internal or external
  • Ability to work independently and as well as part of a multinational team
  • Analytical, communication, presentation, and facilitation skills
  • Ability to manage, mentor, and motivate in a team environment to achieve results that meet or exceed client expectations
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, engineering (preferably Chemical) or a related field; MBA is a plus
  • Willingness to travel
  • Excellent organization skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Foreign language skills a plus
  • Good oral and written English language skills are required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
