Job Description:

Sales Development Representatives (SDRs) are responsible for identifying and creating new qualified sales opportunities for the sales team. The SDR will become a trusted resource and develop relationships with prospects, acting as the initial point of contact. Their primary goal is to qualify leads and set up meetings for the reps. The SDR also acts as a liaison between marketing and the “Closers”, to help evaluate which marketing efforts generate the best leads and identify Best Practices for lead generation and management. This role reports to one or more sales reps and works closely with marketing on lead gen, mailings, database analysis and clean-up.

Core responsibilities:

  • Prospecting and qualifying inbound leads for a specific industry and territory
  • Researching and prospecting outbound leads for specific industry and territory through web research
  • Maintaining all leads/contacts/opportunities and recording all activity and progress in Salesforce
  • Promoting and marketing our market research business through extensive and persistent cold calling, emails and social communication(s) to prospective clients
  • Following up on all marketing efforts (I.e., weekly newsletters, targeting marketing campaigns, webinars, tradeshows/events, etc.) to generate interest in our reports
  • Scheduling Initial Prospecting Meetings for the Sales Team with Qualified Leads
  • Providing in-depth information to the Sales team to enable the most qualified and productive demos
  • Meet or exceed assigned metrics for activities (phone calls, emails, demos, setting meetings)
  • Collaborate with senior salespeople on territory planning, target client descriptions and prioritization of accounts and activities to develop new accounts and grow current accounts in the region

Requirements:

  • 1+ years of inside sales or business development-related sales experience (preferred)
  • Proven track record demonstrating strong articulation of selling points via phone and email
  • Ability to assist in coordinating sales functions including prospecting and leads research
  • Industry knowledge is highly preferred
  • Bachelor's degree / Master’s degree in a relevant field is preferred
  • Positive attitude, curious nature and tenacious yet friendly personality
  • Strong oral and written communication skills along with excellent listening skills
  • Ability to develop rapport, influence others and maintain strong working relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to explain complex issues clearly
  • Must be self-motivated, persistent, and able to work independently in a virtual office or hybrid work environment
  • Proficiency in using MS Office, Linked In / Sales Navigator, Salesforce.com/Pardot or similar CRM/Marketing tool
