Making headway in the French hairdressing industry capital of Lyon, the Beauté Sélection trade show made waves, attracting a multitude of beauty professionals, as well as schools and academies. The organizers and exhibitors impressively assured a jam-packed show with catwalks, workshops, conferences, and live product demonstrations.
Within the multitude of hair/beauty accessories, a few eye-lash and hair extensions and nail-related booths stood out.
French low-cost salon brand Generik made a colorful splash with a flashy orange shopping space animated by staff wearing equally orange wigs and outfits, offering promotional deals on piles of products.
Farouk led the show with a compelling booth space, which included a stage where their hosts demonstrated their new flat and curling irons. There was also a red carpet style celebrity wall where visitors could take pictures with Miss Universe finalists.
Similarly, one couldn’t miss the presence of several keratin-based hair smoothing – further proof that the keratin trend is still going to French heads! Natural ingredients, new technologies, longer lasting effects, and new fancy ingredients (in particular, diamond powder found in several brands’ products), as well as the obligatory “Made in France” cachet, were the primary marketable “musts.” Consult our freshly published Professional Hair Smoothing Treatments FlashPoint report to learn more about the hottest trends and brands in keratin straightening.
Another crowd-pulling booth was that of Hair 30, where live demonstrations of bringing back hair restoration thanks to its keratin-based hair powder. The “before” and “after” effects demonstrated live were stunning! As hair thinning is a major concern, these types of products are expected to be more in demand, along with other salon products addressing hair-loss and thinning hair (see our Salon Hair Care report series for more information on these products).
