Job Description: 

Kline & Company is seeking a highly motivated individual for consideration as Consultant in the Chemicals and Materials Practice within our management consulting division. Our Chemicals Practice focuses on market assessment, market entry, analysis of distribution channels, due diligence and acquisition screening, identification of unmet needs, as well as customer perception, retention, and satisfaction on a global basis across the chemicals and related process industries and CPG/consumer healthcare industries. We focus on detailed manufacturing cost analysis, P&L assessment, comparative technology assessment, and manufacturing process improvement. This position will report to Director of Chemicals and Materials, Kline Management Consulting. 

As a member of the Chemicals and Materials Practice team, you will be primarily responsible for developing competitive information to support assessments that address critical and strategic manufacturing decisions, mainly in the chemicals, materials, and petroleum industries. Critical and confidential issues may include the manufacturing cost competitiveness of existing operations and new plants. A key requirement of the position is to conduct primary research (interviews) with select industry sources. You will also assist the Chemicals/PI project team in: 

  • Analyzing research data 
  • Interpreting findings 
  • Writing interim and final client reports and presentations 

You will have the support, tools, and resources necessary to conduct search through secondary sources such as: 

  • Business databases 
  • Engineering/Technical databases 
  • Government agency records, including environmental, labor, and tax sources 
  • Industry studies 
  • Patent literature 
  • Trade and industry media 
  • Other industry/government sources 

 Job Requirements: 

  • Up to five years’ experience in consulting, manufacturing, or process engineering preferably in the chemicals industry
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a multinational team 
  • Analytical, communication, presentation, and facilitation skills  
  • Ability to work and motivate in a team environment to achieve results that meet or exceed client expectations 
  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, engineering (preferably Chemicals) or related field; MBA a plus  
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadline 
  • Good verbal and written English language skills required 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
