Consumers are requesting blowout services more often than they did a year ago. According to the recent release of first-quarter findings from Kline PRO: Salon Retail Products and Database, the number of salon blowouts is up 36% in the United States and 46% in Canada.  

Naturally, as clients want to replicate the volume achieved by their stylists at home, volumizing products increased by an average of nearly 12% across both countries. Texturizing is also picking up, increasing almost 3% compared to the first quarter of last year.

Which are the newcomers? 

Some of the increase can be attributed to the influx of new product launches delivering texturizing and volumizing results. Both Canada and the U.S. saw Q1 2022 launches from amika: and Davines: 

Other new items in the U.S. focused on texture, while Canada’s best new performers were a mix of texture and volume with products from STMT, Henkel’s gender-neutral grooming line, and IGK’s Extra Love Volume and Thickening care duo.
