Here’s an early look at our estimated sales in our 2017 Crop Protection Manufacturers Report, which includes sales volumes for the top 20 manufacturers, plus an estimated sales summary for the remaining companies. Total crop protections sales volume is estimated at $10.65 billion in 2017, an increase of 5.1% increase over 2016. Generic company volumes are estimated at $2.4 billion or about 23% of the total.
All the companies included in this report were up in sales volume or, at minimum, flat with 2016 levels. This is a significant change compared to the prior two years.
BASF had the largest percent growth for the major companies. Syngenta’s volumes are estimated to be flat with 2016 levels. Most of the generic companies had double-digit growth.
Bayer, Monsanto, DowAgro, DuPont, FMC, and Valent each had growths ranging from 2.0% to 13.5%.
The data in this report is based on EDI and estimated on-the-ground percent growth by company, adjusted to net dollars (cost of sales), with validation from distribution and manufacturing contacts.
