Opportunity Knocked in Miami at Cosmoprof North America 2024

Cosmoprof North America’s debut in Miami was filled with entrepreneurial spirit and excitement from hundreds of domestic as well as international hair care, skin care, nail care, and device companies. The exhibit floor was particularly vibrant, with a significant presence from Latin America. Attendees were global in nature, coming from as far away as India to seek out new hair products to share with salons.

Kline’s beauty expert, Karen Doskow, delivered a presentation on “The State of Professional Beauty: Building Resilience in the Face of Diversity” revealing five current trends that are being seen in today’s market, which resonated strongly with the happenings on the show floor. To delve deeper into the insights discussed, access the presentation here.

“As we walked the floor, chatted with brand leaders, retailers, distributors, and even start-up business owners, the vibe was positive and the energy was high,” says Kristy Altenburg, Director of Global Sales in our Beauty and Wellbeing sector, who attended the event. “The professional beauty space has always been a powerhouse in the overall beauty market. However, as today’s consumers are seeking luxurious and sustainable products, simple beauty regimens, guidance from doctors, and social engagement, it is imperative for brands and other industry stakeholders to become their own powerhouse to thrive,” Altenburg adds.

The Discover Beauty zone was filled with budding indie brands—one of them being skincare junkie, a skin care line developed by Dr. Blair Rose as a solution for her patients. With its simple formula and regimen, she recommends it for all skin types and ages. Vincent Davis, an industry veteran and founder of Beauty Hatchery, debuted his new ‘get in shape’ hair care line, saltie by 30A. Made with rich seaweed, sugar kelp, and coconut oil, it is ocean sustainable and is bottled in 100% recycled plastic.

Innovative and unique products also caught the eye of attendees, including EOLUX’s negative ion powered hair dryer and Sophie La Girafe, a France-based fine fragrance line for babies to teens. The Energy Lounger, combining red and infrared light with an ergonomic design for relaxation and rejuvenation, attracted a crowd eager to give it a test drive.
